Global Rotary Grant Approved for HandUp Congo
Congratulations to these skilled volunteer doctors, nurses and midwives from Australia and the DRC who shared their considerable knowledge at obstetric emergency workshops at the African Federation of Emergency Medicine conference in Botswana in 2024.
This led to our applying for a Rotary global grant, which has now been approved! Details to come on next steps.
Dr Grace Maano, team leader (2nd from right, back row), will also facilitate a breakout session about this grant at the Rotary International convention in Calgary, Canada, June 25 from 9-10 AM. All are welcome to join the interactive session and learn how they might contribute to this exciting initiative.
For details, click the button above or email handupcongo@gmail.com. Collaborating on the grant implementation will be the DRC Emergency Medicine Association www.amurdc.org, Rotary Club of Taree, Rotary Club of Goma-Nyiragongo, HandUp Congo and the DRC Ministry of Health.
We thank all team members and donors for making this initiative possible. It takes a village!
