FLO documents its use of donor funds with photos & reports
From photos taken with cell phones and a donated Sanyo camera to hand-written records and neatly prepared reports, FLO documents its activities. Timely news updates aren't always possible, given the lack of telephone or Internet access in Lotumbe. The women must first go to Mbandaka (a week’s travel by paddling a dugout canoe) to get Internet access that transmits photos and reports to their international colleagues. The village also has an ageing shortwave radio, used for emergencies and regular calls with the church leaders located in the provincial capitol.
